MotorLand Aragón once again belonged to Marc Marquez. After narrowly missing pole position earlier in the day, the Ducati rider wasted no time making amends in the sprint, producing another dominant performance at one of his favourite circuits. An aggressive move on Marco Bezzecchi in the opening laps proved decisive, allowing Marquez to control the race from the front and secure a crucial victory in the championship battle.
Bezzecchi had stunned the paddock by claiming pole position with a record-breaking lap, becoming the first rider ever to break the 1:45 barrier at MotorLand. The Aprilia rider made a clean getaway and led into the opening corners, but Marquez immediately showed his intentions. On the second lap, the Spaniard launched a forceful but clean move into Turn 1, taking the lead and instantly setting a relentless pace that nobody could match.
Once in front, Marquez looked completely untouchable. Lap after lap he extended his advantage, combining consistent pace with the fastest lap of the race to leave the chasing pack with no opportunity to respond. Behind him, Alex Marquez produced another superb ride, climbing into second place after passing Bezzecchi and ensuring the Marquez brothers completed yet another one-two finish. Bezzecchi held on to third after a strong afternoon, giving Aprilia another important podium in the title fight.
The battle behind the podium was equally intense. Pedro Acosta emerged victorious from a fierce duel with Raul Fernandez to finish fourth, while Jorge Martin could only manage sixth after struggling to match the pace of the leaders. Fabio Di Giannantonio crashed out while fighting inside the top group, Luca Marini also failed to finish, and Fabio Quartararo’s race ended prematurely after an engine failure, adding even more drama to an action-packed sprint.
For Marquez, the victory carried extra significance beyond the twelve championship points. Aragón has long been regarded as one of his strongest venues, and once again he demonstrated exactly why. After missing out on pole by just a fraction, he responded in the best possible way by dominating the sprint and cutting further into Jorge Martin’s championship advantage. With Sunday’s main race still to come, the reigning champion has firmly established himself as the rider to beat at MotorLand.
