MotoGP – 2025 Japanese GP – race

Francesco Bagnaia converted pole into a commanding victory in the Japanese GP, leading from the start and fending off all challengers to take the checkered flag. He set the pace early and established a gap that proved decisive—despite mechanical concerns later in the race, he managed his Desmosedici carefully and brought it home first.

Marc Márquez finished in second place, which was enough to clinch the 2025 MotoGP World Championship with five rounds to go. His runner-up finish, coupled with his nearest rival’s result, gave him an unassailable points margin and completed a remarkable comeback to the top of the sport.

Joan Mir rounded out the podium in third, showcasing a strong ride on the Honda and capitalizing on his consistency when others faded. Behind him, riders like Pedro Acosta, Álex Márquez, and others battled for valuable points in a tight mid-pack.

Bagnaia’s win was his second of the 2025 season, but the main headline was Marc’s coronation. With the title secured, he adds a seventh premier class crown to his legacy, equaling legends in MotoGP history. The season continues, but much of the spotlight now shifts to how dominant he can remain over the remaining rounds.
