MotoGP – 2025 Catalan GP – Sprint

Marc Márquez continued his dominant sprint form by securing his 14th win in 15 sprint starts of the season at the Catalan GP. Starting from third on the grid, he capitalized on his consistency and trackcraft to take the lead after his brother’s mishap and ride smoothly to victory.

His younger brother, Álex Márquez, had put in a stunning performance—breaking the lap record to claim pole and taking the lead at the start. Tragically, on lap 9, he crashed out from the lead at Turn 10, unable to capitalize on his home advantage.

Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha crossed the line in second place, delivering a strong comeback and returning to the podium. Behind him, Fabio Di Giannantonio of VR46 Racing secured third—making it onto the podium with a measured and tactical finish.

With this sprint win, Marc extended his championship lead to a formidable 187 points, setting himself up for a potential title-deciding moment at Misano next weekend if he maintains a gap of 185 or more after Sunday’s race.
