First group of qualifying had Duval, Vergne, Da Costa, Frijns and the new driver Gasly for Renault eDams, replacing Sebastien Buemi. The first minutes were really quite with no one on track, but all of them were trying their best on their only lap at 200kw. Vergne finished on top and was followed by Duval, Frijns, Da Costa and Gasly.

Second round of qualifying with D’Ambrosio, Evans, Heidfeld, Sarrazin and Prost. D’Ambrosio showed an awesome pace on his flying lap, being 2 tenths faster than Vergne while Prost finished 3rd with 0.5 of distance between him and the provisional pole man. Heidfeld improved and took the 3rd position. After the chequered flag we had D’Ambrosio, Vergne, Heidfeld, Prost and Sarrazin on top 5.

Third round of qualifying and it was time now for Piquet Jr, Rosenqvist, Carroll, Abt and Lynn who is replacing Lopez at this race. Track was improving a lot and that mean so many drivers will improve their times… but not all of them were so lucky. Daniel Abt managed to reach the 2nd position on his lap with only 0.007 of distane with D’Ambrosio. On their side Lynn could make a great 3rd position. After the chequered flag the top 5 had now D’Ambrosio on top with Abt, Lynn, Vergne and Heidfeld.

Last round of qualifying and it was time now for Sam Bird, Dillmann, Engel, Di Grassi and Turvey. The DS Virgin driver made an awesome lap taking the provisional pole by 0.075, taking Heidfeld out of the battle for the super pole. Engel had problems and stopped his car while his teammate was making the lap as fast as possible. Di Grassi, who has a great chance of taking some good points against Buemi, finished on 10th position due the yellow flags on track. With the chequered flag the drivers who will fight for the super pole will be Sam Bird, D’Ambrosio, Abt, Lynn and Vergne.

Vergne was the first driver to make his super pole lap at New York but his lap was not faster enough, with a 1:03.537 lap. Alex Lynn made his first ever super pole lap and improved the time of Vergne with a 1:03.296 time. Daniel Abt was the third one to make his super pole lap, and maybe it wasn’t too fast, but it was 0.003 faster than Vergne’s lap, taking the provisional 2nd position. D’Ambrosio started his lap very agressive… and he made a big mistake on the first turn, destroying his lap, but he finished it on last position. After that, the pole could be only for the DS Virgin boys, so it was turn now for Sam Bird, but his lap wasn’t good enough, finishing on 4th position with a 1:03.557.

First qualifying and first pole position for Alex Lynn in Formula E who will be followed by Daniel Abt and Jean Eric Vergne. The top 10 was completed with Bird, D’Ambrosio, Heidfeld, Piquet Jr, Turvey, Prost and Di Grassi.
