MiniDrivers – 2026 Miami – Race

Under the blazing Florida sun — and with storms threatening in the background — Miami delivered a tense and unpredictable race that confirmed a new force is taking control of the season. The start was anything but clean, with chaos unfolding into the first corners as several drivers struggled for grip and position, immediately setting the tone for a relentless afternoon.

Kimi Antonelli once again emerged as the man to beat. Despite a tricky opening phase and losing ground early on, the young Italian showed remarkable composure to fight back into contention. Seizing the lead after a fierce multi-car battle at the front, he then absorbed constant pressure from Lando Norris, managing both pace and tyres with precision to secure his third consecutive victory.

Norris pushed hard throughout the race, staying within striking distance and capitalizing on the improved performance of his car. However, every attempt to close the gap was met with flawless defensive driving. Behind them, Oscar Piastri delivered one of the standout drives of the day, climbing through the field and overcoming strategic setbacks to complete a strong double podium for his team.

The battle behind the top three added another layer of drama. George Russell secured fourth place, while Max Verstappen recovered from an early spin to salvage a fifth-place finish. Charles Leclerc, who had briefly led during the opening stages, ultimately fell back after losing momentum in the strategic shuffle and late-race fights.

Incidents and tension were never far away. Early collisions and on-track mistakes shuffled the order, while teams carefully navigated strategy calls in anticipation of weather that ultimately never arrived. The race became a test of discipline: those who kept things clean were rewarded, while even minor errors proved costly.

As the championship picture evolves, Antonelli’s dominance is becoming impossible to ignore. Three wins in a row and a growing points advantage place him firmly at the center of the title fight. The rest of the field may be closing in on performance, but matching his composure under pressure is quickly becoming the real challenge — and for now, he remains untouchable.
