MotoGP – 2024 Qatar GP – Race

The Qatar Grand Prix is now history, and we have already enjoyed the first race of the season in which Ducati showed that it remains the team to beat, as did Pecco Bagnaia, who secured victory at the Lusail circuit. Would you like to know what happened? Here’s our summary.

Jorge Martin started from pole position, but the start was delayed due to a problem with Raul Fernandez and his Trackhouse, causing a delay in the start. Once the race could begin, the Spanish rider lost the lead to Bagnaia, who managed to take the lead of the race, a position that was not threatened throughout the Grand Prix, despite Brad Binder managing to move into second position, similar to the sprint race. However, no rider was able to catch the World Champion.

Meanwhile, Jorge Martin spent much of the race battling with Brad Binder for second place, while behind them, Marc Marquez was dangerously closing in, unaware that Pedro Acosta, in his first official MotoGP race, was overtaking riders and catching up to the leading group, even challenging Marc Marquez for position, managing to overtake him and attempting to dispute the place with Jorge Martin. However, the KTM rider couldn’t maintain the pace and began to lose positions, finishing in ninth place.

There was little action on the track apart from what has been mentioned so far, except for Raul Fernandez’s retirement and an overtaking move by Enea Bastianini on Alex Marquez.

Victory for Francesco Bagnaia, who takes the lead in the championship, followed by Brad Binder and Jorge Martin. The top 10 was rounded out by Marc Marquez, Bastianini, Alex Marquez, Di Giannantonio, Aleix Espargaró, Acosta, and Viñales.
