MotoGP – Qatar GP – Sprint Race

Marhaba, MiniFans! Qatar returns to the MotoGP calendar in a different moment, from being the first race of the season, to become one of the last ones of the calendar.

We enjoyed the penultimate sprint race of the season, and after a qualifying session where Luca Marini achieved a new pole position, the race started with the Italian rider keeping the first position and being followed by Alex Marquez. The contenders for the title fought between each other, being Jorge Martin the one who was in front at the first turn, but running wide and losing positions against Bagnaia and Marc Marquez. At the back Aleix Espargaró was having a horrible weekend crashing with Bastianini and Oliveira and having to retire the bike.

During the first laps Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia were fighting trying to overtake each other and even having contact between them, something that Di Giannantonio used to overtake Bagnaia and follow Jorge Martin, who wasn’t losing time and overtook the next two riders, Alex Marquez and Luca Marini and reaching the first position of the race.

Not so much action for the final laps of the race, but all the attention was to Pecco Bagnaia who was stuck in 5th position and was chased by Maverick Viñales, but the spaniard couldn’t attack the Italian rider.

Jorge Martin won the race and decreased the distance against Bagnaia to 7 points. The sprint podium was completed with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Luca Marini. Top 10 was completed with Alex Marquez, Pecco Bagnaia, Maverick Viñales, Brad Binder, Fabio Quartararo, Augusto Fernandez and Johann Zarco.

With this victory, the fight for the title will stay until the final race in Valencia next week, and everything can happen. Tomorrow we will see if the distance of 7 points between Bagnaia and Martin will decrease or will increase. Stay tuned because this fight is on fire and we can’t wait to see what will happen next!
