Moto GP – Emilia Romagna GP – Qualifying
After a intense race on last week and a mid week testing session, riders got ready at the “Misano world Circuit Marco Scimoncelli” for the second race of the double header. as the grid teams got a chance to improve their bikes in order to equalize or improve the pace against the dominance of the Yamahas.
Q1 saw the lowest number of riders involved on a first qualy session, with only 10 riders at track. As Dovizioso, Rins, Lecuona, Miller and Zarco were some of the favorites to advance at next session. First minutes were a mixed battle up front, with Aleix Espargaro and Miguel Oliveira being up front with a constant change on the standings.
Iker Lecouna eventually took first place followed by Dovizioso, as riders got ready for the final stint. Johann Zarco and Aleix Espargaro both went to the ground as they went on strong laps; At the end, It was Jack Miller who got the lap he needed on his last attempt, with Dovizioso following him at the next session, with a close finish between him, Lecuona and Zarco, who almost made it after the crash some minutes ago.

Last qualy session saw a strong competition for the pole position, with Yamaha riders being the rivald to beat at this session. Maverick Viñales started strong with the provisional pole, but then the Pramac Ducati of Francesco Bagnaia went the fastest at that moment, followed by Quartararo, Morbidelli and Rossi. Some riders were trying different strategies, like Viñales going for three stints like last week’s qualy.
Final minutes of the session and riders started to push harder, as Nakagami has another crash on the same córner like at the last free practice session. Yamaha were showing Its potencia once again, as Viñales went the fastest on track, with Quartararo being close. But the Pramac Ducati showed some hidden tricks, as Miller went second fastest and Bagnaia crossed at the fastest lap, even lower than the high 1’30.00’s, but eventually his lap was invalidated due to abuse of track limits at the last turn. Quartararo closed the front row at third fastest. And Bagnaia was demoted 5th place, between Pol Espargaro 4th and Brad Binder 6th respectivetly.

Another qualy session ends with Viñales leading the pack once again, as he’ll need to take advantage of it on tomorrow’s race, if he wants to have a shot on the championship. With the calendar having less races to go, riders would need to push harder if they want a chance to get the title, on this unusual and close season.
