MotoGP – San Marino GP – Qualifying

13th Round of the Championship as the calendar goes to the mighty Misano World Circuit. A favorable circuit for the Yamaha bikes. Giving high expectations of this weekend’s race.
First qualify session started with mostly Honda and Ducati bikes struggling to get a place for the next session. Petrucci, Miller, Crutchlow, Zarco and Bagnaia were some of the main candidates to be part of Q2. First minutes passed and Joan Mir was leading the group followed by Jack Miller at 2nd place. Zarco,Aleix Espargaro and Petrucci were close from the best Time.
Second stint and riders were pushing hard. Miller and Crutchlow was entering on 1st and 2nd place respectively on their last attempt, but then Johann Zarco get the fastest lap of the session; there was some speculation if his lap was going to be canceled, but it was from another lap, so he could have a chance to compete for pole position alongside Jack Miller.

Andrea Iannone DNQ because of an incident on FP4
Q2 started with some issues on the pit lane exit, as Pol Espargaro had problems to get on track as his bike turn off, but eventually get on track with some assistance. All riders on track and everyone speculating and lookin for a quick pace and maybe a help of a rider ahead. The Yamahas were on fire at the first stint, with four of them at the first five places of the standings. Quartararo and Morbidelli ended ahead of everyone, confirming that the Petronas Yamaha are still competitive on qualify.
Everyone went to Boxes after some minutes, some riders went on track quickly as Marquez and Viñales, and some others made adjustments on the bike. Q2 was on the last minutes, riders were pushing hard for the best place on grid. The Petronas Yamaha were looking strong at the front row, but then a unexpected surprise happened. As the KTM of Pol Espargaro stormed a provisional pole at his last attempt, Surprising everyone at Misano.
As all riders crossed the finish line, Maverick Viñales took the pole position from Pol with a +0,295 gap ahead of the KTM. Quartararo closed the front row start. Marquez and Rossi couldn’t improve their time as both were involved on a non-intencional incident that didn’t end badly.

Amazing Qualify session that increases the hype for tomorrow’s race, as the grid start looks mixed with many potential riders who can take the win on the race. Can Yamaha take advantage of the track or another manufactuer would give a surprise? The variables are open and everything could happend.
