MotoGP – Catalan GP – Race

A race that was expecting to be intense until the end, was denied due to a unfortunate accident. A Catalan GP that would be remembered by the number of retirements and only having 13 riders crossing the chequered flag.
Lights turn green with Dovi, Viñales and Márquez developing a intense battle, with Rossi, Lorenzo and Petrucci close by. But at lap 2, on the end of the 2nd straight Lorenzo went wide and took out Dovizioso, Viñales and Rossi from race. Leaving Marquez with a fortunate situation ahead as he didn’t had no close pressure close to create a gap with the other riders
At the back there was still some battle as Petrucci, Rins, Miller and Quartararo, this last one recovering from a bad start, were on a close battle from the other two steps of the podium. Petrucci holding constant attacks from Rins and Quartararo and other riders trying to join the party. Or falling to the ground, as the number of DNF constantly increased.
Petrucci was still holding 2nd place, as Rins make another try to overtook him, the spaniard hit the brakes hard to avoid a collision, almost fell to the ground and return to the track at 6th place. It wasn’t the only one on trouble, as Crutchlow was on the fastest pace, tried to overtake Miller, but went wide and eventually to the ground.
At the end, Quartararo did passed Petrucci and open a gap to secure a 2nd place and his first podium for the rider and the team on the main category. Marquez grab his 4th win and Petrucci closes the last podium step. Rins eventually recover some places and finished 4th ahead of Jack Miller and Joan Mir on his best finish on the main category, 6th place.
