MotoGP – Valencian GP – Race
Weirdest way to finish a MotoGP ever! As the circuit Ricardo Tormo witness the craziest race of the season. Overtakes, red Flags, drama, historic results and many crashes were all mixed up on the rainy afternoon at Valencia.
Lights were green for the last time, and it was the Suzuki of Alex Rins who entered leader as first lap ended, ahead of Viñales and Dovizioso, Pol Espargaro and Marquez. With constant battles between the leader’s group.
It didn’t take too much for the carnage to start, as many riders started to retire from the race. Aleix Espargaro was the first one on lap 3, Jack Miller at lap 5, on lap no. 7 it was chaos, as Marquez, Luthi, Peteucci, Pirro and Pol Espargaro fell down on the same lap of the race, only the last 2 mentioned returned to the race. Andrea Iannone on lap 9, Viñales and Morbidelli on lap 13 and Bradley Smith on lap 14th, but returning on track. Leaving only 16 riders on the race after the red flag showed up with a last minute leader change from Dovizioso ahead of Rins.
Race restarted after the race calmed down with Andrea Dovizioso as leader, being chased by Alex Rins Rins and Valentino Rossi, 4th place was contested between Pol Espargaro and Dani Pedrosa, as rain started to show up again.
Laps passed, as the battle for the win intensified, Rossi, Dovi and Rins battling for the high spot on the podium, but eventually the Ducati started to show the strong pace and got away from the Yamaha and the Suzuki. Drama increase as some riders started to crash, Alvaro Batista couldn’t finish his last race at MotoGP and Valentino Rossi made another mistake and lose a spot on the podium, leaving for KTM rider Aleix Espargaro for a first ever podium for him and the bike. Checked flag was showed with Dovizioso winning with Ducati at Valencia for the first time since 2008, Alex Rins with a consecutive 2nd place podium, and a historic result for KTM and Pol Espargaro at 3rd place. Michelle Pirro with a strong performance at 4th and a last top 5 for the Samurai Dani Pedrosa on his last ride #ThankYouDani

A huge way to finish an amazing season of MotoGP, season that had many of the most iconic races of the last decade, such as DutchGp, ArgentinaGP and this last ValencianGP, hoping for another season with same or even more excitement as this season.
