MotoGp – Czech Republic GP – Qualifying

After a 3-week summer brake, we head to the “Automotodrom Brno” to start the second part of the 2018 MotoGP season; looking foward for exciting races just as the last races from the calendar.

Q1 started with Viñales and Rins as the main candidates to enter the Q1, and we can say that they do their homework properly, as they enter as 1st and 2nd respectively, followed up by Morbidelli with a remarkable performance based on his bike, Bautista who was the closest rider fighting for a place at Q2, but had an accident on last try, and Smith who had a decent pace to end up to 15th place; the rest of the pack is composed by Syahirn, Miller, Brald, Pol Esp., Nakagami, Guintoli, Luthi, local hero Abraham who unfortunately had an accident, Aleix Esp., Redding and Simeon.

Next up was Q2 with 12 riders looking for the top spot for tomorrow´s race. Lorenzo, Marquez and Crutchlow were the strongest riders at the first minutes of the session, doing the fastest laps of the first stint; everyone was thinking that the battle for pole would be between these 3 riders, but at the last try from the riders, it was Dovizioso who take his 6th career pole with a smashing lap 1.54.689; almost 3 tenth faster than “Rossi” who is still looking for his first win of the season after many consecutive pole finishes, Marquez ended 3th with Lorenzo, Crutchlow and petrucci closing row 2, Zarco, Iannone and Rins at the row 3 and Pedrosa, Rabat and Viñales being the last riders of Q2.

Dovi founds an unlikely pole and a gold opportunity when everyone thought Ducati would not show its true potential, Rossi also has a great opportunity to close the gap with Marquez at the championship. Can the Italian riders give a fight to the Spaniard? We will find out tommorrow; and of what I heard, there is good chance of rain at race time.
