F1 – Brazil GP – Qualifying

Second qualifying today at Brazil and after what we saw today, maybe the season was over, but we’re sure that we’re going to have fun tomorrow at the race after what happened today at the qualifying session.
The first qualifying session gave us a red flag on the first minute with Lewis Hamilton hitting the wall, but the championship was decided, so it wasn’t a big drama for the team. When the session was restarted both Ferrari made their laps with soft compounds while the rest of the grid used the super soft compound and Kimi was the fastest driver. Felipe Massa was in danger but improved his time on his last qualifying in F1 in Brazil. With the chequered flag Kimi finished on top while Wehrlein, Gasly, Stroll, Ericsson and Hamilton finished at the knockout zone.
Just at the start of the Q2 we had the first messages from the teams saying that we had a few drops of rain at the Interlagos track. We had a funny moment between Verstappen and Alonso when both drivers went to boxes and the FIA asked Max to stop for the scrutineering but Alonso thought it was for him, so both drivers made a bit of traffic due the confusion there. Meanwhile Ricciardo who has a 10 position grid penalty was the only driver who made his lap with soft tire while everyone made it with super soft. Final seconds of the Q2 and we had a close battle for the top 10. Sebastian Vettel finished on top with Ocon, Grosjean, Vandoorne, Magnussen and Hartley at the knockout zone.
Final round of qualifying and Bottas made a great first lap but Vettel improved the time and took the provisional pole position. Kimi could finish the lap behind Bottas. Both Red Bull were behind them while Perez, hulkenberg, Alonso, Sainz and Massa completed the top 10 before the last turn of everyone while the track was announcing that we had some rain in some parts of the circuit.
Last lap for everyone and Vettel had a great time almost impossible to beat… but Valtteri Bottas made an awesome lap and improved the time of the german driver of Ferrari taking the pole position. Bottas will start the Brazilian GP in first potision with both Ferrari drivers behind him with Vettel 2nd and Raikkonen 3rd, the top 10 was completed with Verstappen, Ricciardo, Pérez, Alonso, Hulkenberg, Sainz and Massa.
Tomorrow we will have a race with a lot of overtakes from Lewis Hamilton and an exciting battle for the victory between Vettel and Bottas. Stay tuned to know what will happen at Brazil.
