The Czech Republic GP gave us an exciting flag to flag race where the strategy was the key for the victory. Marquez had an awesome advantage after changing his bike and took a victory that helped him to increase his advantage at the championship.
The race was delcared wet and the one moment where the riders change their bike would decide the race. Marc Marquez started on pole, but he lost a few positions at the start, people thought that it was due a problem on his bike, but Marquez’s mother said to Movistar MotoGP that it was strategy because he didn’t want to let the other riders to know when he was going to pit, that helped him to take a 20 seconds advantage against everyone after the bike swap.
Lorenzo who made a great start and was leading the race, after the bike swap had problems and was on 19th position, having to make a comeback with his new aero package of his Ducati. Iannone crashed during the bike swap when Aleix Espargaró made an unsafe release, making the spaniard to receive a 3 position grid penalty.
Rossi and Dovizioso, who were on the first positions before the bike swap had problems after changing to slick tires being on 14th and 15th position, making a comeback and reach 4th and 6th position.
Marc Marquez won the Czech Republic GP and dedicated the victory to Angel Nieto who left us past Thursday. Dani Pedrosa and Maverick Viñales finished on podium. The top 10 was completed with Rossi, Crutchlow, Dovizioso, Petrucci, Aleix Espargaró, Pol Espargaró and Jonas Folger.
The next round of the championship will be next weekend at the Red Bull Ring. The championship changed after this race with 14 points of advantage between Marquez and Viñales, who is actually the 2nd rider, but this can change again after the race in Austria so stay tuned for more updates.
