Marc Márquez secured a commanding victory at the Dutch Grand Prix at Assen, marking his 68th premier-class win and drawing level with Giacomo Agostini—just 21 wins behind Valentino Rossi’s all-time record of 89 . He took the lead on lap 2 and maintained a consistent pace throughout the race, ultimately finishing 0.635 seconds ahead of Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi, who claimed a hard-fought second place .

Francesco Bagnaia closed out the podium in third place, crossing the line 2.666 seconds behind Marquez . Pedro Acosta and Maverick Viñales followed in fourth and fifth, respectively, battling fiercely amid the Dutch century celebrations . Notably, Fabio Quartararo—who had secured pole—struggled to maintain form and finished further down in tenth .
A dramatic moment came on lap 6 when Álex Márquez crashed out following contact with Pedro Acosta, ending his race prematurely and resulting in a fractured left hand to be operated on in Madrid . This incident extended Marc’s championship lead over his brother to a dominant 68 points—239 to 307 .
Marc was also quick to defend Álex from critics who suggested he held back in earlier battles, calling those accusations ignorant and insisting that both Márquez brothers always race flat-out . With a perfect weekend in Assen—a win in both sprint and main races—Marc reinforces his firm grip on the 2025 championship heading into the mid-season break
