MotoGP – 2025 Italian GP

Marc Márquez sealed a spectacular weekend at Mugello by converting his historic 100th pole and sprint win into a full race victory, claiming his 93rd career Grand Prix win—symbolically matching his #93—as he topped a Ducati 1–2–3 for home fans  . Starting from pole, he fended off an aggressive challenge in the early laps from Francesco Bagnaia and his brother Álex Márquez in what was one of the most thrilling opening exchanges seen in this season.

The first half of the race featured a ferocious duel: Bagnaia briefly grabbed the lead, Marc fought back, and even Álex took control by lap six, with overtaking moves and minor contact at Turn 5 keeping fans on their feet . Eventually, Marc powered ahead and established control, distancing himself from the duo by managing his pace as tire wear began to bite on the trailing bikes.

Behind Marc and Álex, Fabio Di Giannantonio made a bold late move to snatch the final podium spot from Bagnaia with just two laps to go, delighting the Italian crowd with his first MotoGP podium at Mugello  . Pecco Bagnaia, despite a strong start, faded to fourth, unable to maintain his early pace and leaving the podium to his compatriot.

Marc’s dominant win strengthens his lead in the championship to a commanding 40 points over Álex, with Bagnaia now 110 points adrift—a gap only widened by today’s result  . For the Ducati factory, a perfect weekend at Mugello—pole, sprint, and feature race—signals their supremacy this year and fuels expectations for Marc’s march toward another title.
