MotoGP – Malasia GP – Race

A quite peculiar race was held on the circuit of Sepang, long battles, comebacks and consistent pace was that marked this Malasian GP.

The start of the race saw the home team Petronas Yamaha riders struggling to find pace on first lap as Morbidelli and Quartararo fell behind of the first places, meanwhile Marquez and Dovizioso stormed a super start by going from the front row to the head of the race. Viñales and Miller also had a good start and were ahead on the first laps.

As first part of the race was going, Viñales and Rossi were starting to pick momentum, as the Spaniard was increasing the gap and the doctor was getting closer to the podium steps, on the other hand, Marquez was getting second place from Miller, with Dovizioso following behind for some laps, untill the Ducati started to fall back.

The laps passed by, and Viñales was looking strongly ahead with a gap constantly increasing against Marquez, who also separated from his persecutors and was riding alone. At the back, Dovizioso had to hold back the Yamaha of Rossi and the Suzuki of Rins, on a very interesting battle for last podium step. At the back, the LCR Honda riders were unlucky, as Crutchlow went to the ground on the last turn of the track and Zarco had contact with Mir on the last laps of the race. At the end, Viñales closed a dominant weekend for Yamaha and took redemption from last week’s outcome at Australia with another win on this season, while Marquez took a 2nd place from a complicated weekend and Dovi hold a good defense against Rossi and Rins respectively.
