MotoGP – Australia GP – Race

Three last stops untill the 2019 season comes to an end, as riders got a busy saturday as the qualy session and the race had to be held on the same day. Phillip Island is well know to be a place were unexpected things can happend, this was not the exception.
Lights turn off and riders went off!, As first row riders Viñales, Quartararo and Marquez had some issues to start properly, others making a surprising start like the Alpirias of Iannone and Aleix Espargaro being top 5 at the first turn And some going to the ground as Petrucci lost control and also took out Quartararo; Also there was Valentino Rossi, who made without Amy question, the best start of the season as he overtook 7 riders and was up front at the first lap.
On the first laps, the pack of riders were strongly battling for the top positions, as Crutchlow overtook Rossi for the lead, Viñales and Marquez were on battle and the Alpirias were still holding high positions on the standings. Much movements at the first part of the race.
As laps passed by, Maverick Viñales was taking control of the lead followed by reigning champion Marc Marquez as both riders were constantly separated from the pack, with only Crutchlow being able to get a little close to their pace on the following laps, nevertheless, the chasing group, conformed by Rossi, Bagnaia, Miller, Rins, Mir, Aleix and Iannone were still fighting for 4th place.
The final laps were getting heat up, as a posible rain warnings were announce and Viñales couldn’t separated ahead of Marquez, the Cervera rider was paciently waiting for the perfect moment to make a move, as he ussually does. Last lap and Marquez went ahead of the Yamaha at the first straight of the lap, constantly holding up Viñales to maintain his position; Maverick was going all or nothing at the downhill turn before last straight, but couldn’t make the turn properly, going to the ground and losing a long worked podium. Crutchlow finished second on a pretty boring 2nd part of the race for the Brit, with home hero Jack Miller taking podium ahead of his teammate Francesco Bagnaia also on the last lap.

Another fun and Thrilling race at Phillip Island, with constant battles and another head to head finish. Next week the mini-Asian tour ends at an old favorite, the Sepang Circuit on Malasia. And following next, the season finale at Valencia.
