MotoGP – Thailand GP – Qualifying

MotoGP returns to Thailand as the Calendar starts the mini Asian/Oceanic tour before the season finale at Valencia. Long straigts and a very technical sectors are some factors that the riders would face this weekend.

Qualifying

The Q1 went green as riders were looking for a place on next session. Petrucci, Crutchlow, Bagnaia, Lorenzo and Aleix Espargaro were some of the remarkables faces that shared this session. First stint was underway as the KTM of Aleix was ahead of the riders, chased by Crutchlow, Bagnaia and Nakagami. Petrucci was having issues to find a proper pace. Second part was rolling, riders were pushing hard; As Bagnaia as he went to the ground at one fast attempt. On the last minutes, Danilo Petrucci finally get some good pace and lead the standing with Aleix Espargaro following him. Crutchlow had some promising attempts, but didn’t had much control of His bike when it was braking on hard corners.

The second Qualify started with some intensity, as Marquez was looking for another pole on a complicated weekend, after he suffered a hard incident on FP1 but suprisingly, didn’t suffered a mayor injury. The only potential obstacle was that Fabio Quartararo was still un form. As the French rider was ahead after the first stint, with Marquez behind and a strong Viñales showing that the oficial Yamaha could still give a fight. Ducati was having trouble to keep up and Valentino Rossi went to the ground. Last attempts for the riders to see who takes the pole, Marquez was getting closer to Quartararo’s time. But as Rossi, he also visited the asphalt. Also Quartararo fell from the bike some seconds later, but nobody else was able to take him the pole. Only Viñales went closer, taking the second spot of the grid ahead of Marquez.
