ABB Formula E – Paris E-Prix – Qualifying

Bonjour Paris! ABB Formula E arrives again at the city of lights with the qualifying session that has just finished a few minutes ago. The drivers are now preparing to the race that will start in a couple of hours here in Paris.

Bird, Buemi, Rosenqvsit, Vergne and Abt will start the first qualifying round at Paris. The drivers waited until the final minutes to make their lap. The national hero for this race, Jean Eric Vergne was the fastest driver at this group followed by Bird, Buemi, Rosenqvist and Abt.

Time for the second qualifying group with Di Grassi, Piquet, Turvey, Lotterer and Evans. Nelson Piquet won’t participate in today’s qualifying session after hitting the wall during the free practice. Lotterer was making a quite nice lap but he was getting too close to the walls and lost a bit time, but he managed to reach the 3rd position while Vergne was still on pole followed by Bird, Lotterer, Di Grassi and Buemi.

Half way to go with the third round with Mortara, Lopez, Heidfeld, Da Costa and Lynn. Da Costa was coming through fast, even improving Vergne’s time on sector 2, but he finished 2nd with a difference of 0.055 with Vergne. Heidfeld was the last driver to finish his lap, making a nice lap, but he lost the time at the end. Vergne, Da Costa, Bird, Lotterer and Di Grassi are now the top 5 for the fight for the super pole.

Engel, D’Ambrosio, Prost, Blomqvist and Ma Qing Hua. It was the first qualifying session for Ma in Formula E this season and he tried to be faster than some drivers while we saw how the drivers tried to beat Vergne’s time but they were losing time at the third sector. The closes driver was Engel who finished 3rd but with 2 tenths of difference. Vergne, Da Costa, Engel, Bird and Lotterer will fight for the super pole.

Andre Lotterer was the first driver to make his lap in super pole, trying to improve what he made during his qualifying session, finishing his lap with a 1:01.487. After him we saw Sam Bird doing his lap, improving Loterrer’s time and finishing the lap with a 1:01.421. Engel, who was the third driver at the super pole fight, finished the lap on third position with a 1:01.541. Da Costa’s time but his lap was quite bad, finishing the lap with a 1:02.805. Jean Eric Vergne was the last driver to make his super pole lap, improving Sam Bird’s time and finishing the lap with a 1:01.144.

Pole position for Jean Eric Vergne ahead of his fans for the Paris E-Prix. The super pole was completed with Bird, Lotterer, Engel and Da Costa while the top 10 was completed with Di Grassi, D’Ambrosio, Buemi, Turvey and Lopez.
