Moto GP – Catalan GP – Race

As clouds emerged from the sky, due to the strong currents of wind, as riders aling for the 11th round of championship. As the tricky conditions could face a big challenge for the riders on the grid.

Lights were off and the race was underway, as riders went to the first turn, 2 big accidents occurred, first there was a 5-man incident, as Alex Marquez, Fabio Di Giannantoino, Marco Bezzecchi, Enea Bastianini and Johann Zarco went to the gravel. Meanwhile at the front, a huge accident from Francesco Bagnaia saw the Italian rider falling on track on a scary scene, with the championship leader requiring some medical assistance after the incident, as the rider was fortunately conscious after the crash.
The race went red flag after both incidents and eventually restarted. As lights were off once again, with no incident to report this time. As Maverick Viñales took an early lead, ahead of Jorge Martin and Aleix Espargaro. With Miguel Oliveira and Johann Zarco closing the top 5. With Viñales attempting to open the gap, as both Aprilias of Aleix Espargaro and Miguel Oliveira were hunting 2nd place Jorge Martin, in an attempt to catch up the race leader.
It quickly became a 2-horse race, just like yesterday’s sprint race, but this time, were both Aprilia teammates who were fighting for the race win, as Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales were flying on track, with both opening a +2.5 seconds gap ahead of the 3rd place, as Jorge Martin was holding the attacks from Miguel Oliveira and Johann Zarco, as the top 10 were on constant movement on the standings.
As Maverick attempted to create a gap with Aleix Espargaro, that +1.5 gap was eventually erased by the veteran rider, as Jorge Martin was riding with no pressure at 3rd and a fierce battle was emerging between Oliveira and Zarco. As the race was coming to an end, a fearless move was made from Aleix Espargaro on the turn 1, as Maverick Viñales was forced to brake late and got out of the track, as both riders didn’t touch and space was given.
It wasn’t any problem for Aleix Espargaro as the home hero took back to back wins on his home GP, with Maverick Viñales closing a historic 1-2 for Aprilia, as Jorge Martin closes the podium, with a strong 3rd place finish.

Catalunya GP goes in the books, with mega results for the Aprilia team and a scary scene with Bagnaia being taken to the hospital. As the Italian rider was checked and was determined that there were no major injuries on the rider, but some small fractures on his left leg and left arm. Very glad and fortunate that the rider was conscious after how the incident developed.
