The last chequered flag of the season was waved at Valencia, the season finale where all the eyes were on the same rider, Valentino Rossi, who is retiring from MotoGP, and all the riders of his academy made a tribute to Valentino wearing his helmets. Francesco Bagnaia was the last winner of the season on a race where Ducati kept the podium and became team champions.
