MotoGP – United States GP – Qualifying
The championship goes to the lone star state, for the 3rd round of the MotoGP championship, with a 6 -time consecutive winner Marc Marquez looking for the “lucky 7” and extend his advantage at the drivers standings; but first, he needs to fights his place on pole, nothing is written yet.
Q1 started with some unusual on the session, as Ducati riders Andrea Dovizioso and Danilo Petrucci had to gain a spot on next session, but Iannone, Mir, Nakagami, Lorenzo and the rest of the pack, wouldn’t gave up that easily. Middle of the session and it was Miguel Oliveria giving a strong lap, with Petrucci close by, but as the time runs out, many movements occurred on the standings as Lorenzo, Mir, Nakagami and Aleix Espargaro were hitting red sectors, with Ducati riders followed closely; at the end, it was Lorenzo and Petrucci who took a place on Q2, leaving Dovizioso with a shocking 13th place

Time passed, riders made their final run, but no one could be close to that outstanding lap for Márquez, the closest rider was Valentino Rossi, with a more than 0.4 decimal of gap between them. Session ended with Marc getting his 7th consecutive pole on COTA, with Rossi 2nd and an inspired Cal Crutchlow completing the front row.
