MotoGP – Thailand GP – Qualifying

Final stages of the MotoGP season, we head up to the Chang International circuit to the 15th race of the calendar and the start of the Asian tour. Hoping for another exiting weekend on a debutant circuit.

Q1 started even before the green light, with the news of Jorge Lorenzo retiring of the weekend because of the foot injury that suffered on Aragon, strong loss for Ducati on the constructors championship. Marc Marquez started from Q1 after he had some problems at the FP4 and didn´t enter the top 10 of the session. But those problems wouldn´t stop him for having a place for the battle of pole, the spaniard started pretty much started and kept 1st on all the session, with an intense battle for 2nd place between Alex Rins, Marco Morbidelli and Takaaki Nakagami. At the end, it was the young spainard from Suzuki who took the place on Q2 with a nice last lap time.

Q1 ended and it was time for the session that decides the first 4 rows of the grid, Q2 went green with an early lead of Maverick Viñales, which didn´t last long after a strong first lap from Marc Marquez, followed by the 3 Ducatis from Dovizioso, Miller and Petrucci. Half of the session passed as the Yamahas were showing improvements compared to the other classifications from previous events, with Valentino Rossi setting provisional pole at one point of the session, but Marquez regained the pole on 3 minutes before the the Qualy ended; They were other improvements of times, but at the end, no other rider could improve the time established by the honda rider, taking anothe pole for his curriculum, Rossi finished 2nd and Dovi completing the front row, Viñales at 4th, Crutchlow 5th and Iannone closing the 2nd row

With Qualify session done, the race is set for another great weekend of MotoGP. How will the riders adapt for a debutant circuit? Can the Yamahas break the 26 drought of winless races? Does Dovizioso still has a chance for the title? Someone can stop Marc Marquez? The last chapters of the championship are getting close, the hype is increasing as the race s are getting closer.
