MotoGP – Austrian GP – Qualifying

After the battle between Dovizioso, Marquez and Lorenzo on last week race at Brno, we head to the 11th race of the calendar at the Red Bull Ring, on the fastest circuit of the calendar at Spilberg, Austria.

Q1 started with the presence of the of Valentino Rossi and Alex Rins as candidates for Q2, but some Riders didn´t want to miss the chance to advance. Bautista and Smith were the fastest at the first stint, with Rins, Morbidelli and Rossi as persecutors, then on the stint 2, Alvaro and Rins who showed the strongest times at the last laps and classified to Q2, leaving behind Bradley Smith and Valentino Rossi, where the poor Bike performance is expose once again; the rest of the driveres ended with Aleix Esp., Morbidelli, Miller, Syahin, Simeon, Redding, Nakagami, Luthi and Abraham

On the Q2 the battle for pole was intense with the Honda of Marquez and the Ducatis of Dovizioso, Lorenzo and Petrucci, who were the close contenders to the fastest laps. Stint 2 showed more time improvements, with a second faster gap of improvement compared to last year´s qualifying. Lorenzo got the lead on his first lap, but Marquez recover it properly, then Dovizioso get his last strong lap, but it was short by a gap of only 0.002 seconds behind the Poleman Marc Marquez. Lorenzo completed the first row as he finishes 3rd, second row ended with Petrucci, Crutchlow and Zarco; Tito rabat finished with a strong 7th place with a humble bike, Iannone and Pedrosa close the third row and at the forth row is composed of Rins, Viñales and Alvaro Bautista.

With the Qualy finished, the expetacions of the race are high, Another Marquez Vs the Ducati squad? A back to back win for Dovizioso? Could the rain show up at racetime? only tomorrow will tell us the answer.
