MotoGp – Dutch GP – Race

The 8th race of the season and the Cathedral of speed makes honor to his name, without argue, the best race of the season so far. With a pack of 8 riders figthing for the race win
The race started with an amazing start of Lorenzo getting from 10th to 1st on first lap, ahead of Marquez and Rossi, following up was Dovizioso, Viñales, Rins, Crutchlow and Zarco at the head of the race. At the first laps, the race was on fire with the Lorenzo and Rossi, that lead with a strange touch between them and let to the pack get close to the leaders and making the race look like a Moto3 race.

As the race advanced through the half, Lorenzo was leading with a small gap ahead of Marquez, Dovizioso and Rossi, but then a sky blue Suzuki mounted by Alex Rins joined the party and became 3rd behind a 1-2 of Ducati as the race was heading to its equator.
With 10 laps to go, the riders started with a series of overtakes and leader changed as race was going to the end, Marquez and Viñales had a late brake and get off track, Dovi got leader with a consistent Rossi and a pursuer Rins; but at 5 laps to go, Marquez made an impressive move and opened a gap to grab its 4th win of the season, with an impressive 2nd place and 2nd podium of Alex Rins and a return to the podium for Viñales, completing a 1, 2, 3 from Spanish riders.

The rest of the “leader group” ended with Dovizioso, Rossi, Crutchlow, Lorenzo and Zarco, all of these drivers giving a great drive and being part of an amazing race. The drivers with points were Bautista, Miller , Pol and Aleix Esp. Redding and Pedrosa, being 9th to 15th respectively. Rabat, Smith, Syahin, Nakagami and Luthi were the other riders to finish. Only 3 riders abandoned the race (Petrucci, Simeon and Abraham) and Morbidelli, who didnt started due to a broken hand injury.

Marquez now has a 47 point lead gap against its closest rival to the championship (Rossi) as we head to Germany for the 9th race of the championship and the last before the summer break. Sachsenring will be the next meeting on two weeks, where the contenders will try to close the gap with Marquez, as it ends the first half of the championship.
