MotoGP – Americas GP – Race

America is still Marc Marquez’s zone. Every race that it was held there, he won, it doesn’t care if it’s on MotoGP or in lower categories. The spaniard is still the king of America.
Marquez had a penalty for his action with Viñales yesterday, so the number 25 started on pole position, but he lost positions with Iannone and Marquez. The spaniard didn’t lose time to overtake the maniac and take the lead of the race, something that he wouldn’t lose for the rest of the race.
Valentino Rossi also overtook some riders like Zarco or Crutchlow, but he wasn’t able to attack his teammate, who recovered the place after Iannone’s mistake when he tried to overtake Marquez.
Riders like Rins, who made a mistake and lost a few positions, Crutchlow who crashed, Syahrin and also Rins who also crashed, were only a few highlights of a bit boring race today at the always exciting Circuit of the Americas.
Special mention to Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa. The Italian rider had an easy race, maybe he didn’t made into the podium, but with his 5th position after overtaking Zarco, made him to become the championship leader. And about Pedrosa, we had to take our hats off for finishing the race with the pain that he had during the whole weekend.
Marquez won the race with Maverick Viñales 2nd and Andrea Iannone 3rd. The top 10 was completed with Rossi, Dovizioso who is now the championship leader by just 1 point ahead of Marquez and we closed the top with Zarco, Pedrosa, Rabat, Miller and Aleix Espargaró.
The next round of the championship will be the first of the 4 Spanish rounds of the championship at Jerez with the Spanish Grand Prix. Stay tuned because the Minis won’t stop.
