MotoGP – Japanese GP – Race

The rain was with us during the whole Japanese Grand Prix on a race that gave us an exciting battle for the victory until the last turn. The championship battle is getting closer for Andrea Dovizioso who took the victory today against Marc Marquez.

Johann Zarco started on pole but Marc Marquez took some risks at the start and overtook the Tech3 rider. Lorenzo also started as he’s used to this season and was just behind Marquez, overtaking him before the end of the first lap. Danilo Petrucci was showing a good pace and overtook Marquez and Lorenzo, taking again the first position as he made in Misano. The other Ducati, Dovizioso, also was trying to get the first positions and overtook Zarco and Marquez, but the spaniard didn’t want to lose the podium so he overtook again the italian rider.

Rins had a great pace with this rain condition and overtook both Yamaha and the Aprilia of Aleix Espargaró. Meanwhile at the front Marquez was defending his position against Dovizioso and overtook Lorenzo who started to lose a few positions.

At the crash zone we had Nozane, who was replacing Folger, Crutchlow, Abraham and Rossi.

At the front the battle for the victory was close with Petrucci, Marquez and Dovizioso. With just 11 laps to the end of the race, Marquez overtook Petrucci and the italian rider let Dovizioso to be in front of him.

Dovizioso won’t let Marquez go and will stay just behind him during a few laps. With 5 laps to go, Dovizioso overtook Marquez and made the change of the rythm at the first position. Meanwhile Rins overtook Zarco, something that Iannone also made with the french rider of Tech3.

On the final laps, Marquez wanted to battle for the victory again and overtook Dovizioso. The italian rider started to fight with the spaniard but Marquez was still in front. Just when we arrive to the final lap, Dovizioso made his overtake against Marc Marquez but the spaniard fought until the end, but a small mistake made the italian to finish ahead.

Victory for Andrea Dovizioso who is now only 11 points behind Marc Marquez who finished second and is still the championship leader. Danilo Petrucci finished the race in 3rd position and the top 10 was completed with Iannone, Rins, Lorenzo, Aleix, Zarco, Viñales and Baz.

The next round of the championship will be the next week at the Australian GP. The championship is getting more exciting and everything can happen. Stay tuned for more updates.
