The first session of qualifying gave us Dani Pedrosa on a fight for being one of the 2 fastest riders, something that we were not used to see. The spaniard was leading the way with Barbera on second position, but the favorite for being the partner for Q2 was Petrucci who was running 5th with the new aero package that Ducati used with Lorenzo on the last weekend. Final minutes of the session and Petrucci improved and was leading the way now with Pedrosa on 2nd position but so many riders were improving their laps. Danilo Petrucci and Dani Pedrosa were the fastest riders of the Q1 with Folger, Barbera, Redding, Pol, Bautista, Kallio, Miller, Aleix, Rins, Smith, Lowes and Rabat closing the grid.

The second qualifying session started with the Yamaha riders on top with Rossi on provisional pole with Abraham, Lorenzo and Pedrosa closing the top 5. Ducati was going really well this weekend and Abraham improved into the 1st position, but Viñales took the position really fast. Marquez appeared for this battle and was also on provisional pole, the positions were changing really fast during the first half of the session.

After the bike change things were getting serious and Cal Crutchlow had his lap time cancelled because he exceeded the track limits at turn 1 while Lorenzo improved and was second while Marquez was improving his lap time.

Chequered flag and the riders were crossing the finish line for the last time on this qualifying session. No one could beat Marquez’s time, but Ducati improved taking the first row.

Pole position for Marc Marquez who will be with both Ducati on first row with Dovizioso 2nd and Lorenzo 3rd. The Q2 grid was completed with Viñales, Petrucci, Zarco, Rossi, Pedrosa, Crutchlow, Iannone, Abraham and Baz.

Tomorrow for the race Ducati will be the team to beat but Marc Marquez won’t let them to do it so easy. The fight for the championship is on fire and at the MiniBikers we will be ready to explain what will happen.
