The third season of the FIA Formula E has arrived to his end and we have a new champion with Lucas Di Grassi. The driver who had everything in favor at the start of the weekend had all the bad luck together in the final two rounds of the championship.

Felix Rosenqvist took the pole position and kept the first position on a start where Sebastien Buemi was hit by Antonio Felix Da Costa and hat to pit because the black with orange disk flag shown to him. Because of that, all the chances to become champion for Buemi dissapeared on a race where Di Grassi the only thing that he had to do is just finish the race.

The DS Virgin cars showed a great pace during the race, with Bird and Lopez fighting for the podium during the whole race, meanwhile Buemi was making a comeback to reach the last points of the season, but he had to finish in 2nd position if he wanted any chance of becoming champion, something nearly impossible.

After the pitstop Di Grassi was overtaken by his teammate, but both changed the positions after that and Abt defended the positions to help his teammate, also overtaking when Di Grassi made the same.

Jean Eric Vergne after the pitstop showed a great pace and overtook Rosenqvist, who couldn’t follow the Techeetah car which was heading into the first victory of the season. On the final lap Duval crashed into the wall after being overtaken by Buemi, but the safety car didn’t appeared.

Jean Eric Vergne won the second race at Montréal, the last race of the FIA Formula E season. Rosenqvist and Pechito Lopez were with him at the podium and the top 10 was completed with Bird, Heidfeld, Abt, Di Grassi, Sarrazin, D’Ambrosio and Dillman.

Lucas Di Grassi become the 2016-17 FIA Formula E champion after three seasons of hard battles for the title. This time he took the crown and will have to defend it for the next season which will start in October.
