MotoGP – Dutch GP – Qualifying

The cathedral of MotoGP is back another year and the rain is back one more year for the Dutch GP. The qualifying session has just finished and we have the name of the poleman for the race of tomorrow.

Due the track conditinos during the whole weekend, Lorenzo had to make one more time the Q1, being the favorite for being the fastest rider of the session with Redding. Miller and Baz where the fastest riders on their first attemp, but while the time was passing, the riders were taking more risks and were improving their times having with 5 minutes to go Miller and Redding on top. With the chequered flag, Pol Espargaro crashed while Redding and Lowes were the fastest riders of the session and the Q1 grid was completed with Miller, Baz, Aleix, Iannone, Rins, Abraham, Pol, Barbera, Lorenzo, Smith and Rabat.

Time for Q2 being the first full wet qualifying session for the 2017 grid. We will see how will performance Maverick Viñales on rain, and specially Zarco who was the favorite for the pole position. On their first lap Petrucci was the fastest rider followed by Rossi and Redding. Petrucci was improving his time while Andrea Dovizioso crashed with his Ducati. The next rider to crash was Redding and has tu run to get the second bike.

With the final minutes ahead, Marquez improved and took the provisional pole while Rossi become second. Petrucci who was coming really fast, found Pedrosa and lost a lot of time. Sam Lowes made a “McLaren” when their engine blew up. Chequered flag and Zarco took the pole position with Marquez and Petruci on first row. The Q1 grid was completed with Rossi, Redding, Folger, Bautista, Crutchlow, Dovizioso, Lowes, Viñales and Pedrosa.

Tomorrow everything can happen, from a new winner at MotoGP with Zarco, to a closer chamioinship… Or something really crazy because the cathedral always give us great surprises.
