MotoGP – French GP – Race

The race at Le Mans become a major change at the MotoGP championship. Maverick Viñales won the race at France and the standings changed after the crashes of Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi.

The spaniard took the victory on a race that had Johann Zarco as leader during the first laps, dreaming on taking the victory at his home race. Dani Pedrosa, who started 13th, made a great comeback reaching the top 5 without problems and getting close to the podium after the crash of his teammate when he was chasing Valentino Rossi.

On the last part of the race, both Viñales and Rossi overtook Zarco and the Yamaha riders had a battle for the victory. On the last couple of laps Rossi made a mistake and lost the first position against Viñales. When he tried to chase him, he crashed on the last lap.

On the other side, we had a lot of retirements on the race, from crashes like Bautista on the first lap, Barera who had problems wtih his Avintia, Abraham, Redding, Petruci or Aleix Espargaró whose engine blew up.

This is how Maverick Viñales won the French GP with Johann Zarco achieving his first ever MotoGP podium and Dani Pedrosa who finished 3rd and become 2nd at the championship standings. The top 10 was completed with Dovizioso, Crutchlow, Lorenzo, Folger, Miller, Baz and Iannone.

The next round of the championship will be in two weeks at Mugello, home of Ducati and Valentino. We’ll see what will happen at the championship but what is sure is that this season we won’t get bored.
