F1 – Singapore GP – Qualifying

Hello MiniFans!

The most famous Formula 1 night race has arrived with the Singapore GP at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. We just enjoyed the qualifying a few minutes ago. Want to know what happened? Stay with us and keep reading!

First session of a really hot qualifying despite being at night. Both Mercedes started with the ultra soft tyres, reaching the first positions without problems. McLaren was a surprise being behind both Mercedes really close, but it was because the silver arrows made a slow lap because Raikkonen and Verstappen made a better lap, but the fastest lap was for Daniel Ricciardo with his Red Bull. Vettel was having problems with the suspension of his Ferrari and was last with only 5 minutes left. Daniel Ricciardo had the best time of Q1 with Magnussen, Nasr, Palmer, Wehrlein, Ocon and Vettel who will start on the last positions of the grid.

Time for the second session of qualifying, and this time Red Bull was trying again a different strategy with the super soft tyres while the rest was making their laps with ultra soft. Both Mercedes were again on top without problems with the ultra soft compound with both Red Bull behind them. On their last attemp of Q2 Grosjean crashes into the barriers causing a yellow flag, so the session was over for almost the rest of the drivers with Rosberg being the fastest driver of Q2 and with Bottas, Massa, Button, Gutierrez, Grosjean and Ericsson at the knockout zone.

Real fire right now with the Q3 at Singapore. Rosberg made an awesome qualifying lap, impossible to reach for his teammate who was at 7 tenths with Raikkonen 3rd with 9 tenths of difference. After going to boxes and change their tyres, the drivers were ready for their last lap but Lewis made a small mistake.

Pole position for Nico Rosberg with Daniel Ricciardo 2nd and Lewis Hamilton who will start 3rd. The top 10 was completed by Max Verstappen, Kimi Raikkonen, Carlos Sainz, Daniil Kvyat, Nico Hulkenberg, Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez.

And that’s all for today. What would happen tomorrow at the race? Will Rosberg be able to recover the last points to Hamilton? Will Lewis find the victory that he’s looking for? Will Red Bull or Kimi beat Mercedes? Will be Vettel able to reach top 10? We’ll now it very soon, but until then you know… Be mini-good!
