The tifosi wanted a great spectacle at the Italian GP this year and the last free practice showed a great performance from the medium part of the grid. Esteban Ocon had to left the car at the first chicane. Mercedes made an awesome lap being 1 second faster than the rest of the drivers, so if we see the same on Q3 we probably know who will get the pole position. Chequered flag and Lewis Hamilton was the fastest driver on Q1 and the drivers at the knockout zone were Kvyat, Nasr, Ericsson, Palmer, Magnussen and Ocon.
Mercedes used the same strategy as Spa with the tyres making their lap time with the soft Pirelli while other drivers were using the super soft compound. Red Bull also want to try the soft compound to make their lap. Red Bull wanted to make the same strategy but both cars were at the limit of the knockout zone. Chequered flag and Lewis Hamilton was the fastest driver while the drivers who won’t run at Q3 were Massa, Grosjean (who has a 5 position grid penalty), Alonso, Wehrlein, Button and Sainz.
Final round of qualifying and again Mercedes started being the fastest drivers on the first minutes followed by the Ferrari at almost 1 second of difference. It was almost impossible to reach Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton took the pole position for the Italian GP and was followed by Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel. The top 10 was completed with Kimi Raikkonen, Bottas, Ricciardo, Verstappen, Perez, Hulkenberg and Gutierrez.
