MotoGP – Czech Republic GP – Qualifying

Hello Mini-Fans!

The MotoGP action is back this weekend with the Czech Republic GP at the Autodrom Brno. The qualifying session is just over and the drivers are now focusing on the start for tomorrow. Wanna know what happened during the qualifying? Stay with us!

Pedrosa was one of the favorites to become the fastest rider on Q1, and he won’t let anyone make a fastest lap than him, as we saw during the Dutch GP. On his first attempt Dani Pedrosa took the first position and he was followed by Petrucci by just one tenth. Álvaro Bautista ran away of the track but he could return to the track. On the last seconds Smith was faster than Petrucci, making the italian rider to give his best on his last attempt at Brno while Dani this time won’t have a rival for this session. First positions for Pedrosa and Smith who will go to Q2, the back part of the grid will be for Petrucci, Redding, Laverty, Bradl, Baz, Hernández, Bautista and Rabat.

Second session at Brno and the question was if someone was going to beat Jorge Lorenzo who had an awesome pace during the free practice. On his first attempt Lorenzo was the fastest rider followed by Iannone and Márquez, who had now his teammate in front on him at his qualifying lap and helped by the rear tyre of Pedrosa he could reach the second position, but also Barberá could reach the 3rd one with Márquez’s rear tyre. Dovizioso was the last rider on making his lap time, and on his first attempt he directly went to boxes to change his tyre and make a good first lap.

After the pitstop for all the riders Lorenzo could improve his time in 1 tenth, but the surprise was with Marc Marquez who was helped by the rear tyre of Rossi, overtaking the italian rider and having a battle with Pol Espargaró but he could take the first position with an advantage of 2 tenths.

Pole position for Marc Marquez with Jorge Lorenzo second and Andrea Iannone third. The Q1 grid was complete with Aleix Espargaró, Barbera, Rossi, Dovizioso, Viñales, Pedrosa, Crutchlow, Smith and Pol Espargaró.

The strange fact is that Rossi, Lorenzo and Marquez have now the same ammount of pole positions in motorsport with 63 in their racing career, but the question now is… Who will get the victory? Lorenzo was the favorite but Márquez showed an awesome pace today, but the thing is that tomorrow we have rain prediction during the morning, so everything can happen.

See you tomorrow and remember… Be Mini-good!
